Remotely Control Your Android Phone Using SMS

Consider a situation when you kept your phone in silent and now you cant find anywAndoridhere. You wanted to ring on that but the ringer is in silence mode. Now what? Frustration of course! Why don’t you use the app called “Agastya” which will turn your ringer on and you can find it with a simple missed call from your mate’s number. You will turn your phone’s ringer by just sending a SMS from any phone. Even the simplest Nokia 1100 will do.

The app “Agastya” can do many other tasks other than turning your ringer on via SMS. You can also retrieve your missed call alerts, and also incoming SMS messages through simple SMS.

So how do you do it?

Firstly, you need to install this app from Goggle’s play store. Click here to install Agastya.

Now it will ask for your email id and a PIN which you will use to retrieve information from your Android Phone. Enter both the information and you are done. (Don’t forget to keep Agastya running in the background.)

Now from any mobile sms that PIN (which you entered at first startup time). And within few seconds you will receive a list of commands which will help you retrieve the information from your phone. These will be valid for the next one hour.

Once you receive that SMS containing the list of commands you are ready to hack into your own phone. Do take care of the capital letters while sending those codes.

This is pretty useful for the users which have multiple phones. In case you forgot your other phone somewhere you can also fetch contacts from your phone via SMS.

The IMEI number can help you block a stolen phone from accessing network. (To know the IMEI number of your device type *#06#.)

Here is a list of SMS command which you can try at your android phone.

SILENT Turns of the Ringer of the phone
RINGER Turns on the Ringer
IMEI Gets the IMEI number of your phone
LAST MESSAGES Retrieve the last 5 messages received at your phone
LAST CALLS Retrieve the last 5 dialed/ received/missed call detail
<CONTACTS> Fetches the contact number of that person

There are other alternatives to this app too. You can also try Where’s My Droid app which will not only turn on the ringer of your phone remotely but will also send you the phone’s current GPS location by SMS.

Apple’s $1,049,343,540 victory over samsung

Apple Samsung Ruling

Last year, Apple claimed in a lawsuit that Samsung violated some of the designs and technology that made up the iPhone and iPad. These include features like rounded corners of the user interface, much talked about pinch zoom, and a rubber band feature. On the contrary Samsung denied this and countersued and accused Apple of infringing on some of its patents.

However the jury has found five of the six patent filed by Apple which have been violated by the Samsung.

Now that Apple has won its patent claims against Samsung, the company has to pay Apple $1.05 Billion as a monetary damage.

There were more than 700 questions regarded alleged infringement by both the companies.

How Google is also blown by this verdict

The verdict comes as a major blow to the entire Android community. Samsung is one of the strongest Android player and Google has been quietly providing its own quiet support to Samsung. The most important part of this verdict is that now Apple has a special morale to sue all other Android devices maker which will affect Google directly.

Android is not free anymore

Many of the Android users are already paying a license fee to Microsoft, now will also have to pay an additional fee to Apple. Hence Google’s free Android operating system will not be free anymore.

Company’s statement after the ruling

Apple said

“The lawsuit between Apple and Samsung were about much more than patents or money. They were about values.”

While the Samsung statement came as

“Todays verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple but as a loss for the American consumers. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices”

Well, I personally believe its not all over yet. But at present Tim Cook must be rejoicing with the ruling in favor of his company.

In fact they tend the people to change from one platform to the other.

Solving Android WiFi Problems

Sometimes you may have some astonishing problems on your Android mobile phone and one of them is not able to connect your phone over Wi-Fi. The problem maybe not in your phone but can other issues which you aren’t aware of. It noted that 90 % such problems occur due to router configuration problem. And here is our basic guide on how would you resolve those issue by yourself.

The basic steps to ensure that the problem is fixed by you manually are…..

  1. Switch your mobile handset and reinsert battery and try again.
  2. If that doesn’t work and if you are using security on Wi-Fi router then remove it. Check back again.
  3. Some of the devices don’t supports router which is supported by other devices. So in that case you need to go to router configuration in PC and check each setting which your mobile needs.

If the problem is still not solved then follow these –

  1. Use Fix My Wi-Fi – Using this paid Android App you can resolve some of the known Wi-Fi issues. The problem can be in failing to reconnect or return to access point, Wi-Fi dropping when idle(Optional Wi-Fi lock), device not attempting to connect. This app comes free with certain HTC mobile phones. Its available at Price of $3 or Rs 145. You can get this app for download at Marketplace.
  2. If the paid app doesn’t work then it might be driver failure. For Samsung Galaxy series mobile phones open your keypad and type *#*#526#*#*, wait for some time until you see ‘process was successful’ on the screen. You can repeat this whenever you see this problem.
